Stephen J. Kontos joins Rader, Fishman & Grauer as Associate

Bloomfield Hills Mich., June 16, 2008 – Stephen J. Kontos has joined the Bloomfield Hills office of Rader, Fishman & Grauer PLLC, a leading national intellectual property law firm, as an associate. Rader, Fishman & Grauer develops strategies for maximizing the value of intellectual assets including patents, trademarks, copyrights and trade secrets. Clients range from multinational corporations to emerging enterprises.

Prior to joining Rader, Fishman & Grauer, Kontos worked at a general practice law firm as an intellectual property intern where he prosecuted provisional, utility, and design patent applications, developed foreign patent prosecution strategies, and conducted patentability searches. Prior to that, Kontos was a judicial clerk to the Honorable Steven N. Andrews of the Sixth Judicial Circuit Court in Oakland County.

Kontos is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and is a member of the State Bar of Michigan.

Kontos holds a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree, Summa Cum Laude, from the University of Detroit Mercy where he was also an Insignis Scholar, a member of Eta Kappa Nu, and a member of Tau Beta Pi. He also holds a Juris Doctor degree from Wayne State University Law School.

Kontos is originally from Southgate, MI. He currently lives in St. Clair Shores, MI with his wife, a resident physician at St. John Hospital, and puppy.
